About

Neil Parslow is a landscape lighting designer with over twenty years’ experience working across the UK and internationally. His practice combines rigorous technical knowledge with a disciplined design approach, shaping light to support architecture, landscape, and the way people move through space.

Neil has spent more than two decades designing lighting for landscapes and architecture, delivering projects of varying scale with a consistent focus on clarity, structure, and long-term performance. His work is rooted in a belief that good lighting should be purposeful – considered in how it defines form, establishes hierarchy, and supports the experience of a place, rather than drawing attention to itself.

Each project begins with an understanding of movement and use: how people arrive, where they pause, and what needs emphasis or restraint. Light is used to guide perception and reveal detail, while shadow and darkness remain integral to the composition, preserving depth and authenticity within the environment.

Neil’s approach is informed by long-standing collaboration with leading lighting designers in the United States, alongside extensive hands-on experience in system design, specification, and installation. He is a regular contributor to industry trade publications and holds professional qualifications as an NPTC CS38-certified tree climber and an NVQ Level 3 Electrician to BS 7671. He is also a member of the Professional Garden Consultants Association (MPGCA).

Alongside his design practice, Neil is the founder and lead designer of Light Visuals Ltd., a London-based manufacturer of modular landscape and architectural lighting products. Developed over many years, the Light Visuals range reflects the same principles that underpin his design work: precision engineering, replaceable components, and products designed to perform over the long term. Designed and manufactured in England, the system-led approach prioritises durability, sustainability, and future adaptability.

Across both design and manufacturing, Neil’s work is driven by a simple conviction: lighting should enhance a space, not compete with it – and when done properly, it should last.
